🩹 Tattoo Aftercare
By Christine – Ink Is Art Studio
Your tattoo is a fresh wound — and how you care for it directly affects how it heals, how it looks, and whether it qualifies for a touch-up. This guide walks you through everything you need to know to protect your new ink and keep it looking its best.
🔄 First 24 Hours
- Leave the bandage on for 1–2 hours after your appointment.
- Wash your hands, then gently clean the tattoo with warm water and unscented soap.
- Pat dry with clean paper towel — no cloths, no re-bandaging.
- Change your bed sheets before sleeping with a fresh tattoo.
🧼 Daily Care (Days 1–14)
- Wash 3–4 times daily with warm water and unscented soap.
- Use your fingers with light pressure — no scrubbing.
- Pat dry with clean paper towel.
- Apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer (eucerine, aquaphor, A&D Ointment, or Luberderm Unfragranced – do not use AVEENO).
- your tattoo should never look or feel wet or greasy-this can cause infection and damages to your tattoo, not covered by warranty
- • If it looks greasy, blot the excess.
- If it looks dry, reapply lightly.
- Continue this routine for 2 full weeks.

- No shaving or waxing the area
- No picking, scratching, or touching with dirty hands
- No ointments, Vaseline, Neosporin, or scented products
