Preparation & FAQ

Studio FAQ & Preparation Guide

Welcome to Inkisart Studio. To help you prepare for your appointment and answer any questions you have about the process, pricing, and policies, please review this comprehensive guide.

📅 Booking, Pricing & Appointment Policies

How do I book an appointment?

Booking requests are accepted exclusively through the online contact form on our website. Please provide as much detail as possible about your design concept, size, and placement.

What is your booking fee policy?

To secure your scheduled date and time, a non-refundable booking fee is required.

 Booking fees are non-transferable.

Rescheduling and keeping your deposit on file is done entirely at the discretion of the studio.

If you cancel completely or miss your appointment without notice, your booking fee is forfeited.

How much will my tattoo cost?

Tattoo pricing depends entirely on the size, placement, design complexity, and style of the piece. Fine-line, delicate florals, or custom script require different amounts of time and precision. A custom price estimate will be provided after we review your design inquiry.

Can I bring a friend or children with me?

Because Inkisart Studio operates as a calm, private 1:1 workspace, extra guests, friends, partners, or children are not permitted in the studio space during your session. This ensures a quiet, distraction-free environment, allowing total focus on the precision of your custom piece.

🧼 Health, Safety & Skin Readiness

What do I need to do 24 hours before my session?

To ensure your skin is in optimal condition to take the ink perfectly, please follow these strict preparation rules:

Day-Of Hydration Mask: On the day of your appointment, apply a thick layer of moisturizer to the area being tattooed, wrap it in plastic wrap, and leave it on for 1 to 2 hours before your session. This intensely hydrates the skin right before we begin, making the tissue pliant, highly receptive to clean ink saturation, and much more comfortable to tattoo.

No Skin Damage: The tattoo site and the surrounding 6 inches must be completely free of cuts, scratches, bug bites, razor burn, severe sun burns, or rashes. Open or irritated skin carries bacteria and increases infection risks. If the skin is compromised, we will have to reschedule.

No Blood Thinners: Do not drink alcohol or take aspirin within 24 hours of your appointment.

Limit Caffeine: Keep caffeine intake minimal on the morning of your session, as excessive caffeine can thin the blood and increase sensitivity.

Arrive Clean: Please shower shortly before your appointment. Because we work closely in a private space, please skip any heavy perfumes or colognes.

What is the waiver policy?

You will receive a link via email to complete your online waiver. This must be filled out within the 24-hour window immediately before your appointment. Waivers filled out earlier than 24 hours will automatically expire due to safety protocols, and you will need to submit a new one before we can begin your session.

💡 On the Day of Your Appointment

What should I wear and bring?

Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows clean, easy access to the tattoo site. Ink does not wash out of fabric, so choose items you don’t mind getting stained. For upper-body placements, button-down shirts, tank tops, or zip-up hoodies work best.

Identification: A valid government-issued photo ID is required at the start of your session.

Fuel & Snacks: Bring a sugary snack and a sweet drink (like juice or sports drinks) to sip on during breaks to keep your blood sugar up.

How much will it hurt?

Pain is completely subjective, but mental preparation plays a huge role. Accepting and acknowledging that it will sting helps your brain handle the sensation beautifully. The active tattooing is the intense part; afterward, it will simply feel warm and tender like a mild sunburn.

Tip: Your body needs fuel to manage pain. Please eat a substantial meal 1 to 2 hours before arriving to prevent dizziness, fainting, or sudden drops in blood sugar.
Can I use my phone during the session?

While your phone is a great distraction, please limit heavy cell phone use (like constant texting, swiping, or reaching for it). Subtle shifts in your upper body or arms directly affect the precision of line work, especially for fine-line and delicate custom designs.

🦴 Special Considerations: Hands, Wrists, and Feet

Placements on hands, wrists, or feet look gorgeous and striking, but they carry unique long-term realities that you must consider before committing:

factor

what to expect

sensitivity

These areas have thin skin, dense nerve endings, and minimal fat over the bone, making them notably more intense to tattoo.

Ink Longevity

Due to constant movement and skin shedding, tattoos here are prone to minor spreading or premature fading. Future touch-ups may be required to keep them crisp.

Healing Friction

Fresh ink cannot rub against tight clothing or footwear. Foot tattoos heal best during warmer seasons when you can comfortably wear open-toed shoes.

Snapshot

How long does it take to heal?

While the surface layer of your skin will flake, peel, and appear healed within 2 to 3 weeks, it takes roughly 3 months for the deeper layers of tissue to completely lock in the ink particles.

What are the immediate aftercare rules?

A complete aftercare sheet will be provided, but the core pillars of a healthy heal are:

1. Wash gently: Use your clean fingertips, warm water, and an unscented liquid antibacterial soap. Never use a washcloth.

2. Moisturize lightly: Apply a very thin layer of recommended ointment for the first few days, transitioning to an unscented lotion once it begins to peel.

3. No soaking or sun: Absolutely no swimming, hot tubs, or baths for 3 weeks. Keep the healing tattoo completely out of direct sunlight, and always apply SPF 30+ once it is fully healed to prevent future fading.
